Melinda Ostermeyer

Sr. Organizational Resilience Advisor

Melinda Ostermeyer serves as the Senior Organizational Resilience (OR) Advisor for The KonTerra Group, overseeing services to leaders, teams, and organizations, including the USAID Staff Care Center OR component. She specializes in increasing the effectiveness of leaders and teams through leadership consultation, facilitated large and small group problem solving processes, coaching for growth and development, and mediating differences.

Melinda’s desire to help leaders and teams be resilient and support them to thrive in difficult environments was spurred by her twelve years as a senior leader of both a government and non-profit organization, and her over thirty years as an organization development consultant, mostly in the international development arena.

Early in Melinda’s career she was the Director of two mediation organizations that provided comprehensive services to the courts, community, and governmental entities in Houston, Texas and Washington, DC. Thereafter, she coached and consulted with leaders and teams in the US on their effectiveness, and traveled frequently to over a dozen developing countries helping leaders incorporate meditation into their country justice systems. Joining KonTerra in 2009, first as a consultant, then as a staff member, allows Melinda to focus her leadership, team, and organizational resilience passions specifically within international development and aide environments.

Melinda holds an advanced degree in Organization Development from Johns Hopkins University and, among other accreditations, an Executive Coaching certification from Georgetown University. She resides in Washington DC where she aspires to paint abstract art and further nurture long-time relationships.
