Mélanie Romat
Evaluation and Knowledge Manager
Mélanie Romat is Evaluation and Knowledge Manager for the KonTerra Group. Mélanie has been holding this position since 2020 and taps into more than 10 years of experience in the development and humanitarian sectors to support evaluation processes and stakeholders.
Having a communication background, Mélanie dedicated the first years of her career to events organization, corporate communications and community engagement. In 2015, she started to specialize in the development and humanitarian sector and engaged in the promotion, communication and management of EU and UN funded programmes and projects. Her professional path includes working with UN Women’s headquarters for more than two years as a social media consultant, leading her to gain expertise in GEWE programmes and policies.
Since she joined KonTerra, Mélanie has managed a number of evaluations for WFP, UNICEF and OCHA. She has traveled to Cambodia and Congo to be part of data collection missions, and contributed to the Summary of evidence to inform the Country Strategic Plans (CSPs) of the Dominican Republic and Haiti as an analyst.
Mélanie holds a master’s degree in communications and is fluent in French (her mother tongue), English, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. She is based in the south of Portugal where enjoys life at a slower pace after years in capitals.
