Dawn Martin
Organizational Resilience Advisor
Dawn Martin serves as an Organizational Resilience Advisor with the United States Agency for International Development’s Staff Care Service Center. Since joining The KonTerra Group in 2008, and in previous domestic and international consulting roles, she has provided leadership consultation and group facilitation services.
Throughout her career of over forty years, Dawn’s conflict resolution specialty has been instrumental in her work. As a mediator, mediation trainer and program designer, she developed a deep appreciation for the powerful impact of relationships in all walks of life, including work. She is convinced that colleagues who trust one another are more likely to thrive and contribute their best. For that reason, she is committed to helping people gain self-awareness, understand one another better, and build bridges across differences. She also draws on her ten years of experience as an immigration attorney. From her clients who persevered in the face of extreme hardships, she learned about human resourcefulness and resilience. She continues to be inspired and guided by their examples.
Dawn earned a law degree from the Catholic University of America, a BA in Sociology from the University of Maryland, and a Professional Coach Certification from the International Coach Academy. She also has certifications in DiSC, Immunity to Change, Stakeholder Centered Coaching, Prosci Change Management, Conflict Dynamics Profile, Emotional Quotient Inventory, and MBTI.
She lives in Washington, DC, goes back to Nicaragua whenever she can, and is happiest when the dinner table is crowded.
