Lynne Cripe
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Lynne Cripe serves as Chief Executive Officer at The KonTerra Group, a leading provider of staff care and evaluation services to the international humanitarian and development community, serving more than 100 organizations and covering more than 90,000 lives.
As a social psychologist with 25 years’ experience in international relief and development, she has expertise working with organizations and individuals to foster resilience in the face of challenges and crises.
Lynne’s interest in staff care was spurred by her twin experiences of working as a psychosocial technical advisor at USAID for programs for children affected by armed conflict and survivors of torture in sub-Saharan Africa and joining USAID in Nairobi in 1998 shortly after the bombing of the US Embassy. Her dedication to strengthening the international aid sector’s commitment to the psychological health of its people, led her to CARE USA, where she served as Director of Employee Engagement, Support & Communications, conceptualizing and implementing a comprehensive staff support program, with a particular focus on crisis and emergency response protocols. She joined The KonTerra Group in 2011 as the Director of the USAID Staff Care Service Center. Later, as Director of Resilience Services at KonTerra, she provided strategic direction for KonTerra’s staff care and organizational resilience services.
Lynne earned her PhD in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine and was a Fulbright Scholar in the Philippines. She has worked in more than 30 countries, primarily in high-risk environments. She lives in Alexandria, Virginia in the United States where she is an avid baker, volunteers as a clinic escort for patients seeking reproductive health and abortion care, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Amica Center for Immigrant Rights and the Cornerstone on Demand Foundation.
