KonTerra Inventory of Resilience Builders® (KIRB®)

KonTerra Inventory of Resilience Builders® (KIRB®)

Practical, evidence-based resilience training—grounded in personal insight.

The KIRB® Course: Resilience Essentials for Everyday Life

The KIRB® Course is a self-paced, online learning experience that helps people understand how stress is showing up in their lives and learn practical ways to strengthen resilience and wellbeing.

The course combines the KonTerra Inventory of Resilience Builders® (KIRB®) with short, focused video lessons in the Resilience Essentials for Everyday Life course that guide participants from insight to action—helping them identify priorities, adjust habits, and make changes that are realistic and sustainable.

Why the KIRB® Course

Many wellbeing programs offer general advice that can feel disconnected from people’s real lives or work demands. The KIRB® Course takes a different approach.

It starts with personalized insight, then provides clear, practical guidance on what to do with that information.

Participants don’t just learn about resilience—they learn how their stress patterns, habits, and coping strategies affect wellbeing, and where to focus effort for the greatest impact.

What Participants Do

Participants move through the course in three simple steps:

1. Complete the KIRB® Assessment: Participants complete the KIRB®, a research-informed assessment that looks at behaviors and experiences across 10 key areas shown to support resilience.

2. Review their personal KIRB® Assessment Report: Each participant receives a personalized PDF report that provides:

  • Their stress, high-risk coping, and resilience factor scores
  • A visual guide to your current resilience profile
  • Detailed advice on building resilience in priority areas for growth

3. Complete the KIRB® Course: Resilence Essentials for Everyday Life. Participants then complete a self-paced online course made up of 18 short video lessons, supported by reflection prompts and practical tools. The 50-minute video course helps participants:

  • Reflect on their KIRB® results
  • Understand how coping strategies, habits, stress, and resilience interact
  • Learn evidence-based strategies to strengthen resilience
  • Set intentions to make small, achievable changes that support wellbeing over time

For Groups and Organizations: The Aggregated Insights Report

The KIRB® Course is available to individuals and as part of group engagements. For groups of ten or more, every organizational purchase includes an Aggregated Insights Report.

The Aggregated Insights Report gives HR professionals, staff care focal points, and organizational leaders a clear, group-level picture of what their people are currently experiencing:

  • Average stress levels — including how scores are distributed across the team, not just the mean
  • High-risk coping patterns — how intensely the group has been relying on strategies that carry longer-term costs
  • Mean scores across all 10 resilience factors — with relative strengths and growth areas identified for this specific group
  • Tailored recommendations — prioritized, actionable suggestions for where to focus support, training, or systemic change

The report contains no individual-level data. It is designed to support planning, leadership conversations, and follow-up action — not to evaluate or monitor individuals.

For organizations that run the KIRB® annually, the report also provides a trend line: evidence of what’s changing over time and where sustained investment is making a difference.

Optional add-ons — including facilitated group debriefs, targeted resilience workshops designed around your team’s specific results, and individual consultations — can be added to deepen learning and support application.
